My Bioshock game is not playable (Steam).

Hello all,
some time ago I purchased a Bioshock CD-key that was activated on Steam (not through Steam itself). Back then the game was in "My Games" and I could play it. Today, I then bought the DLC (it was gifted), but it now says I do not own the base game, and the Bioshock game has been moved to "Other Games" in my library.

If I click the game (to play it), it simply goes to the store page. Should I assume I got a dodgy CD-key that has been "blacklisted" or something?

yeah along the lines of the activated through steam itself, rather than just steam-bought version, so you do not own the steam version, and the dlc would probably only work through the steam bought version. or if you bought a steam key for bioshock then defo just ping the steam techsupport.

as to why you cannot access it, i couldnt say, but try finding it on your hdd and see if you can manually launch it, you may need to just add it back into steam.

if it was just a key for it, and added into steam, recently games for windows closed, i know it affected bioshock2, not sure if it changed anything with bioshock though. steamforums probably your best bet.
