My 2005FPW Saga!

Okay, Bit the bullet post Christmas and got my self a new monitor, in style.

Orderd a Dell 2005FPW from http://www.itcsales.co.uk/acatalog/20__TFT_Displays.html £340 all in.

It came today, unpacked it and too a nasty gut feeling found a little bit of red paper on the screen, saying:

"RED ALERT, THIS IS A SECOND TIME RETURN"

Ahhh, crap, so its ether been fixed or not, I'm not sure, it works fine bar the DVI which just doesnt work. So any way, I phoned up ITCsales at 5pm today, and within one min had sorted to get a swap over replacement on tuesday.

Brillant service, and a birillant screen, hope that my next one works totaly

I'm using the one thats been returned atm, I think the prosessing bord for DVI is nacked, but its still amasing through D-sub.

Its a pain, but ITCsales delt with it impecably, no talking two required.

no backlight bleed? dead pixels?

The backlight bleed, you only see it on total black, and dont notice even in dark parts of CS or films, so it doesnt bother me.

No dead pixels on this one, hope the next one I get it the same.

Got a few pics of it up, theres on of the backlight bleed which is VERY exagerated by the camera.

i wouldnt mind going for the 24" version hehe ive got so used to the height of my 19" tft i think that if i went wide screen it would have to be a similar height!

The 24" would be lovely, but seen as it doesnt cost much less than my whole PC did, i think the price is a little exesive, for me at least. This screen cost alot, but its worth it. I'm sure the "24 is as well, but its very hard to justife that much money unless you like some totaly tec gear head.

well hopfully in my gap year inwhich i plan to get a job (every ones heard that from me) and live the life style as a tech head hehe.

first thing to get is electric drum kit which will cost me 2k less than my proper kit but still expensive - so then i can plug it into my pc and add a new element to my ch00ns.

24" would be wicked aswell as making a HTPC - - Iam spending money i dont even have ahwell, bring on next year !
