MSI has just unveiled a GTX 980Ti with a non-reference blower design cooler. A budget GTX 980Ti?

But how much cheaper? If someone's happy to pay for a 980ti this model would have to be significantly cheaper to tempt them away from a reference design - at least 10% cheaper I'd think.

A sticker as oppose to some brushed aluminium is always going to look like shit "In my opinion" but if you just want a fast graphics card which is going to sit in a closed windowless case and is never going to be overclocked then why the hell not.
Personally I think we need cards like this for the people who don't care about aesthetics, and saying that I'm from Doncaster and I'm usually tight as fuck, but when it comes to my PC I just want it to look the balls and go like stink.

what are the different PCB components used?

I feel like this could well be aimed at watercoolers that are just going to rip off the cooler and slap on a block. however they are not going to be wanting inferior pcb components

If the performance is the same, then this is great new. Not all of us stare at our PC's all the time, we stare at the monitor :-)

The more bling you put inside the case, the less monies for bling to appear on the screen.

That looks like bargain basement cheap tack. Good point about watercooling folk removing it anyway to fit block and for those aesthetically challenged cases, but then again this will be the inferior brother to MSI's other range of 980ti's. I'd be intrigued to know what the ASIC quality of the gpu is.

Mmmm, yummy good old fashioned price gouging for the lose !

MSI has been using this cooler for a while now. Every card they have made it with is usually cheaper than the rest, because the cooler is nothing but plastic and, well, cheaper than the rest.

So the only reason this costs what it does is because people are rushing to buy them at launch. That wouldn't even be so bad but for Fury.

This would be awesome for a hackintosh built inside the older good looking Mac Pro tower with side panel modded window :)
