That doesn't support 7000MB/s. So it is not the same thing

No one is saying it is. Sliced says: I would like an m.2 drive, but my board doesn't support M.2. I gave a cheep solution to that.

My boards have no M2 sockets so I would need it.

Because if you look closely it's full of capacitors etc. It will also need a RAID controller built into it too. The fan is likely to stop the drives throttling.
