MSI launches new MAG GL series of ATX 3.0 power supplies

The 12VHPWR plug and socket need to both be re-designed so all 4 sides click tightly into place and not just a rubbish little flimsy clip at the top.

the whole connector needs to be dropped. How many have confidence right now that after reading all these burned incidents that they dont worry about their own?

Cables are supposed to be plug and forget. Not plug in and check often for signs of melted plastic...

For this reason alone with everything that has gone on with it user error or not I will avoid it at all costs and will never adopt it myself even if it means i can't upgrade at all at some stage, the whole thing needs to be better designed and while some will defend it i'm sure they would change there mind once there's melted, these things are meant to be bullet proof in safety not hit and miss on how lucky you are or not.

in my mind it's just too much power and heat condensed into such a small connector and after seeing the tear down on these things it's no wonder as it's a clustered mess.

also do not like the idea of them moving PSU functions onto motherboards, can you imagine how much more expensive something like that will become, thanks but no thanks to all these new ideas that add nothing for the consumer.

Luckily for me, I use it but dont worry because im using the 3090ti which has a far far less power draw than the 4xxx series.

I certainly wont upgrade. Its bad enough that my cable is pressed against the window of my case, so probably not a clean connection anyway.

As far as I have understood it, its only an issue with the 4090 due to its high power draw. 4080 and below arent affected.
