I have two of these bad boys in SLI and get 145FPS nearly constant in BF4 in ULTRA everything turned on @1440p at 144hz multiplayer and couldn't be happier the only disappointment is the lack of a back plate but still a nice card

We are paying an arm & leg for these GPU at least they could put a back plate on or even do what EVGA does sell them as a add on

It all depends on silicon lottery.

I have a reference 980 that can do 1560/2100 which is far higher than the EVGA SC.

Its all about out of the box performance nothing to do with silicon lottery :)

my evga 980 sc boots to 1392-1405on core out of the box temps 69-70c

My work mates EVGA SC 980 only boosts to 1342 out of the box, As I said silicon lottery plays a huge role albeit that's before power or anything is touched.

Reason why you say it's curious as to why a 980 is barely at all faster than a 960 in CoH2 is because they are being CPU limited. That's why throwing in another 980 only gave an additional 12 FPS. It's CPU limited. Game is notorious for that.
