If the GTX 1080 is too expensive for you, then maybe the GTX 1070, here in MSI Gaming X guise, will be just the thing.

MSI GTX1070 Gaming X Review

Nice review, Shame about the price. my 970 cost me about 280 (and it wasn't the cheapest) and the cheapest 1070 on overclockers is about 370. big price increase from the last generation.

Great review. I got my first MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X the other day and i love it. The new cooler is very quiet and keeps the card at only 69c when my card is fully overclocked and over volted. My manual overclock takes the card up to 2050mhz +100mhz on core and +500mhz on memory stable. I was able to clock the ram up to +600mhz and it was stable in benchmarks but crashed on long term gaming.

That is due to the fact that the 1080 has what would be ti performance and 1070 delivering what would be seen as 1080 performance. A douchebag move by nvidia to raise the prices and milk the market even further. I'm starting to wonder if the TI will be priced as a titan card which is what I'm waiting for but if that will be the case I'm going AMD.

At least AMD is pressuring them in the mid tier market with their new releases and Nvidia has no new card in that range released yet, but I'll bet we won't see the TI until Q4 maybe even a Q1 next year.

Good card but not worth the price gouge. Cooler performs well but I don't find it particularly attractive, More attractive than the F.E. cooler though; I couldn't see myself putting one of them in a windowed case.

What are the yields of the chips and hence availability of cards? I'm hoping as these improve, prices might fall otherwise I'll stay with AMD. Ten years since the 8800 GTX and every time the Green Team put blue water between themselves and the Reds performance wise they do something to have me hesitate pulling the trigger:(

100 quid give or take to move up a generation is steep. I have gone for the x70 cards for my last 2 upgrades as IMO these are the best bang for buck cards. I think I have just been out priced and will take a good proper look at amd cards in the future.

Not sure

I'm not sure if I should buy this one or the asus strix gtx 1070.... can anyone help?
