Great review. I like that short reviews on OC3D are 20 mins long.

Those little components that you didn't know about Tom, are phase doublers. Controller drives 8 phases that are then doubled to 16 for better power delivery, load and heat distribution, therefore requiring less cooling.

There was Quicksilver version for 1070 but they never made 1080, and didn't announce 1080 Ti. I really don't know why. It looks epic.

Good review, definitely disappointed in the boost clocks. I picked up a 1080Ti Armor OC when the first round popped up on Newegg and it performs about the same, although with worse temperatures. Planning on dropping an EK block on it and adding it to the loop once they get around to releasing it. Lower temperatures are a given, hopefully the boost clock goes up as well.

Thanks for the review Tom! Even if you had all the time in the world, all these cards are the same nowadays in performance, it's the cooling and PCB where the differences are so these shorter, subsequent reviews make sense from that standpoint as well.

You're right about the colour scheme for this card; it's ancient by now and just terrible, I find.

Well each to their own, I like my PC and proud of the fact that I built it. Specially considering I've put asthetics into account and therefore I want to show it off and have a look inside of the nice components I got from time to time
