Because no matter how poo it is if you add gaming to the name you can charge £100 more than it is worth.

They went mental though didn't they with the whole "Carbon Fiber", "Dragons", "LEDS" and "Gaming" laden boards which just look terribad, we're gamers not 17 year old boys with our first car and a roll of carbon vinyl. They should take a leaf out of EVGAs book, the classy looking tidy boards always catch the eye.
I know the Dragon is MSIs gimmick but you only have to spend a few minutes on any of their social media sites to see that it's become hated, as has LEDs added into everything.

Seems like Gigabyte & MSI are the only ones who do it which is a fail surely they can think of a different name, "Gaming" is just dumb to me.

Yup, like Wraith wrote above... Sounds like they're trying to either sell a kids toy or sell it to kids.
Look at ASUS for example, they name their motherboards without "Gaming" in them.

Any of the latest EVGA motherboards, IMO EVGA makes the best looking motherboard nearly all black motherboards with like 2 spots of red which you could remove and paint black or even grey.
I know there's a lot of people on this forum who don't like EVGA but not going to say any names

I only bought my EVGA stinger based off looks and price. But I wish I spent more, tbh I really dislike it's layout. I think that's due to ITX but I've seen better ITX boards. Think the best is the ROG though, since the add-on piece really takes care of a lot of stuff off the main board and frees up room
