Mouserate Overclock No Longer Works Vista.x32/x64

I've just installed the latest version of Vista on a machine with all the newest updates and the mouserate overclock no longer works and I can't find anywhere else on the net apart from here where others have had the same issue.

Those files worked an absolute treat before the update came out not long ago. Microsoft must have modified the usbport.sys file/s. Now whenever you follow the procedure you're usbports stop working completely and you have to restore from CD.

If anyone has a link to a fix, knows how to point me in the right direction when it comes to hex editing or can get in contact with XMS who did all the hard work himself it'd be appreciated. :beerchug:

Hiya, If you can attach the latest version of the usbport.sys from your Windows install I'll take a look as soon as I get a chance.

i've not tried patching the usbport.sys on my vista64 install yet (hardly use it) but the uploaded file is the same build number as the patched ones, version 6.0.6000.16386

the latest usbport.sys files from the (x64) SP1 beta are version 6.0.6001.16659 *shrug*

Well if thats the case, something else has been modified because now if I replace my usbport.sys file with the bundled ones my usb ports stop working completely. There was another poster in the other thread with the same problem.

So what does this all mean?

I heard there was two hotfixes that came out that modified the usb configuration. Is there any way to install older hotfixes to restore it back to the way it was when the 500hz fix worked? My Vista install is October this month so all the fixes were pre packaged.

Yeah, what did you do to solve it ? I just can't live with 125hz. Why the f.... doesn't microsoft just allow adjusting this supid pollingrate somehow without having to hex edit some driver ? I dont get it.
