Afternoon,

I'm sure this has been asked and i just can't find it due to lack of sleep, but i need help deciding between an msi Z87-GD65 or an Asus Maximus Vi Hero. Im a first time PC builder long time PC users and i do intend to over clock as time goes by and my understanding of everything improves. Just as an fyi i can get the MSI on Amazon atm at $187 and the Hero is at $199.

Thanks for any help that can be provided and I'm looking forward to posting some photos at my first attempt at a kick ass rig.

Overclocking/performance wise you are gonna achieve about the same on both boards due to haswell overclocking being more CPU(silicon lottery) dependent than motherboard dependent.
It's a battle between looks and features. I would go for VI Hero only because I prefer the Intel NIC and I think it looks somewhat better than GD65.
Otherwise same nr of sata ports, same nr of usb ports, hero has 1 less PCI-Ex1. Glance once over the feature list and see if there is a feature that you need and only one of the boards has it.

Thanks that good to know, I think I'm going to go with the Asus just because i can get it now and not have to wait for 2 weeks plus i think i kinda like the looks more.
