Hello everyone...i have been out of the computer world for a while (pre 9/11 terrorist attack) also new to OC3D and overclocking.

I'm going to start off with building an up to date rig. To start things off I will be using Crosshair 4 extreme My link and an AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black edition proc My link.

I'm thinking of going with 12800 1600 Mhz Mushkin red ridge My link or ridgeback My link but they only have in 2 Gig modules or Corsair GT My link and only using 8 Gigs instead of the full 12 Gigs but their timings suck. Thank God parity dissapeared long ago Lol.

I'm having a problem understanding the following specs on the Mobo concerning memory...

4 x DIMM, Max. 16 GB, DDR3 2000(O.C.)/1600/1333/1066 ECC,Non-ECC,Un-buffered Memory

Dual Channel memory architecture

Please refer to www.asus.com or user manual for Memory QVL.

xx

*Due to CPU spec., AMD 100 and 200 series CPUs support up to DDR3 1066Mhz. With ASUS design, this motherboard can support up to DDR3 1333MHz.

Does this mean I can only install 1333 Mhz memory and tweak to try and get above 1333, or can I install 2000 Mhz and tweak to get higher than 1333

I spoke with asus and they say that the Mobo's default is 1333 Mhz (they didn't say what speed memory).

Speaking of timings does the 2000 Mhz modules make the high 8's -10's x 27 less of an issue?

I know this is a lot of questions but if you could help this noobie, I'd appreciate it...

Hmmm...some readers but no reply's. Is too much text? Oh yea, could be because of turkey day holiday...looking forward to you reply's
