More problems discovered with Core 2 Duo

Intel has released a PDF describing bugs in its Conroe processors which are built on a 65 nanometre process technology. It's common for new chips to have bugs, or errata as the vendors prefer it. Generally many bugs can be fixed by introducing fresh steppings of the processors.

The PDF is downloadable from the Intel site, here. One of the bugs listed, AI 39, could lead to serious data or system corruption, Intel warned.

There are known rounding issues with the E6600 series, but data corruption seems a bit more serious..

Well I'm glad to see Intel at least owning up to the fact that they have some problems, and not trying to keep it under wraps and making people find out the hard way.

Bravo Intel!
