Is it possible to get a better performance by updating the Mobo Bios to a newer version ?

In a word, yes

Of course! BIOS revisions are made specifically to increase performance and fix any previous glitches, always run the newest bios for best performance :D

Agreed with my two excellent friends as above. Though I haven't updated my BIOS for an while (mainly cause I'm happy with my OC) :D

im pretty sure this isnt correct. newest bios fixes issues and also creates new ones ;). this is true with every driver and software update. everytime you fix something another thing comes up. also i got better performance with a certain version of bios which isn't the newest. and also modded bioses may increase performance and most of the times unlock hidden features.

this is the same as the vga driver. in my case i got better performance using 77.72 than using other drivers which other people may find better for their setup. you can't say "for me it's better so it's better for you aswell". you have to try it yourself with your current setup. also updating bios may increase overclocabilty ;)

This is correct but it really depends mainly on who's supporting your board I suppose :) If ur 1337 and r0ck teh DFI u get a range of custom choices depending upon ram and cpu types.

In 99% of all scenarios, the newest revisions are the best :) :wavey:

hmmm actually i made some very good experiences with ASUS. High quality, good performance, alot stuff that comes with each motherboard.

I realy think ASUS is a very good Company. They know what they are doing.

ATM it seems like they have some problems (NB Fan on ASUS A8N-SLI etc.).

They're solid Intel performers for sure...

The AMD boards lack in about everything, the biggest being overclocking.

hmmm the only thing the AMD Boards lack is the overclocking performance of a DFI Board. The Performance is as good as it schould be, same with the stability. Believe me ;)

Agreed - Asus boards are good stock board - just not good for overclocking :D

have any of you ever used the asus update utility? im having a lot of problems getting the damn thing to work:(

update: just got the new beta bios from asus germany:P and it r0x0rs..hehe

im more of a "if it aint broke dont fix it" kind of guy. bios updates dont always increase performance. theyre usually designed to fix hardware problems. drivers increase performance.

Again this all depends on who support ur mobo :) Most, if not all DFI Oskar Wu BIOS releases are to both fix hardware problems and most importantly increase performance.
