More PC gamers are playing Batman: Arkham Knight than Suicide Squad

I wouldn't mind a live service game if it didn't deviate so far from the Arkham style. If it had the incredible combat, visuals, and character justice, I'd be OK with the live service model, or at least a system like Ghost of Tsushima where they had regular updates that kept the game alive. Rockstar have kept a game from 2015 alive by making their live service elements fit with the core gameplay elements and story that people love about GTA.

I'd also be OK with a non-live service game that changed things like the combat system but kept the story-driven narrative and character development. Developers have deviated from their origins before and made a success of it.

But Rocksteady went all-in on everything. They changed everything at once. They blew it all on characters that were never very popular to begin with, with a platform type that has only succeeded in certain niches by certain developers, and by completely dismantling the Justice League as well as Batman himself. Even the world itself is a shadow of what Arkham and Gotham used to be. Watching comparison videos is eye-opening.

I don't feel any connection to the game whatsoever. It is soulless.
