Interesting that they decided to use 2 GTX260's for the X2 card. We all know the Core216 260 and 1GB 4870 are fairly equal, and with AMD promising some unlocked performance when they enable the sideport on the 4870X2 it should be an interesting battle.... one that driver support will ultimately win of course.

the other different between the black and blue is that there is A LOT more memory on the front side of the 'new' blue design card...

I'm not very keen on GX2 style cards. the heat must be a real issue unless your on water.

Yes it is sli in one card effectively but did the 9800 ones have issues if you tried to sli two cards, pr quad sli as it would be?

the 55 core should be better, giving a bit more performance and lower temps to boot :)

think you are getting the pics confused mate,it's a SINGLE card

Did you even look at the photos or read the article? The article's stub on the main page reads "Pictures of the 55nm refresh of the GTX260 as well as the name of the GX2 card have been released". And if you look at the pictures themselves, it clearly has one core and is labelled "GTX260 (216SP)".

And lastly, if you read the bottom of the main article, you would see the line "...the GTX295 will likely utilize the dual-PCB design..."

Make sense? ;)
