Monster Hunter World is set to be extremely demanding on PC

Considering Capcom said the PC version will have parity graphically with consoles, This is not a good sign especially given how much more powerful a 1080 is compared to what's inside even the refresh Pro and X consoles.

Yes, but also imagine how far each of those consoles would go if they didn't have temporal reconstruction techniques to cheat themselves into higher resolutions. PC doesn't have that technique to fall back on.

PC will have a better experience thanks to native resolution rendering, though it is undeniable that some modern games like Horizon Zero Dawn do a great job at "cheating" higher resolution playback.

TBH I would love to see Temporal Reconstruction make it to PC in the future, as the tech could be great for users lower-end hardware.

Yeah I don't see this going very well for them on PC.

As for the game - be warned: if you play solo then things can be difficult at times. The game is a GRIND for materials to make slightly better gear that helps with specific enemies - this is especially true in solo play as getting the needed materials is a bloody chore and can take forever. I am not exaggerating here either sadly.

If you play with another friend things get easier however the enemies scale to act as if there were 4 players total rather then the number of players in the present party (this could be patched to be the opposite).

If you join random groups and have 4 people things are easy....but some people hate playing that way (me in this instance) and I don't enjoy it as much as I could, but that is me :P

In short - good game, fun game on my xbox x, however the scaling to the hardest way enemies can be regardless of 2 / 3 / 4 party members can be a very big annoyance.

Small additional - If you play solo (which some of the content you are required to) and you play with the mace / sword and shield / a few other weapons... you attack very slowly compared to the bow / gun / etc. This makes killing some enemies a real pain as they can take you a long while to actually kill by yourself with certain weapons. Longest I have spent killing something was about 45 mins simply due to the mechanics of the fight and only being able to get 2 hits then dodging for a minute and repeat - this was due to the fact that I was using the big mallet/mace thingy.

Just my two cents! well more like 2 bucks with the length lol.

Thanks for the info. Will deffo keep this in mind for when I play the game next month. :)

Cap om aren't exactly known for great pc ports. Getting it to run smoothly will be an achievement in itself.

Yet another unoptimized console port.

Isn't even going to support 21:9 either.

Glad we waited half a year for this.

Capcom, you f'd up again. We finally get a Monster Hunter game on PC (outside of Japan) and it's absolute horse shyte.

Why do people keep giving these companies money?

IGN in their twitch stream showed an average of 60FPS at 1080P high settings with a single 980 which is 4 years old and the CPU was a 4790K which is also 4 years old so that isn't exactly bad, And where are you seeing no 21:9 support ?

Neogaf (or whatever the remade site is called) has a lot more information.

Maybe the performance issue was overblown, but who knows until everyone gets their hands on it besides just a few select people/outlets.

I don't understand?
