Monitor Response Times?

Alright guys I have finally got around to picking up a monitor seeing as my desk is coming next month.
I have been looking around and all the display jargon has my head in a spin.
Can someone give me a simple break down of what these mean please?
Response Time
IPS/TN
Cheers Guys and any recommendations for a monitor would be awesome an all got a budget of £100 for one.

Response time - Time between GPU outputting a signal and it being displayed
TN - Not very impressive colour, great response time, fairly cheap
IPS - Great colour, ok response time, more expensive

The BenQ GL 2460 is right up your alley. For £100 its a TN panel with a quick response time (great for gaming) and its 1080p. Can't ask for much more at that price to be honest. Im using it right now and I've no complaints.

TN - Decent colour varies greatly from monitor to monitor but inferior to IPS, great response time, fairly cheap

Slight change to your comment.

Cheers guys.
I was looking at the BenQ monitor but the 21" version, is there a massive difference between em?
MadShadow how did you know I was after a 1080p monitor without me saying anything haha

Haha this is why I like this forum, guys on here have a cracking sense of humor and actually give solid advice and help.
Model number for that monitor is GL2250HM.

Yep, that monitor should do you absolutely fine. Obviously higher pixel density than a 24 inch, so it'll probably look nicer as well ;)
