Moist Thermal bus...

Hi,

I was getting a small amount of moisture on the thermal bus :( , ever so slight, you could only feel it when you held it firmly. So I lagged up the thing with lagging from B&Q. The stuff comes in a roll and its sticky backed, makes it real easy to use. No moisture now :)

Messy case, I know, you should see my room!

Nice one mate...i had an icecube where my capilary tube touched the side panel of my case, used some seal string and it was all good then...

i still got some water drops forming though...well more like sweat, no drops ;)

could u give us a link for that "tape"?

i may need it when i get my mach 2 GT :)

Hi guys I experienced similar problems to you guys but have a cool solution..

I had slight condensation on the outside of a Perspex window on a lian-li where the capillary tube touched the window.

After removing the braiding I noticed several things.. :

There are several wires wrapped around the tube interlocking all the way up the capillary. I believe that these are used to heat the capillary slightly to prevent the frost from the metal tube inside the rubber soaking through the rubber and preventing condensation. I had been using the mach II for around a month and when I cut the braiding off I noticed that the wires were spaced very far apart where the capillary contacted with the case window. The only reason for this is on my Lian-li when u put the window back on you apply a slight pressure to the capillary to get the window in place then slide the whole panel towards the front of the case to lock it in place. This was dragging the wires. Now the only places I was seeing condensation was where the capillary was connected to the window and the wires were spaced far apart.

So simple mod for this one, I took some super glue and glued the insulating wires around the capillary in place securely. Now when I put my case side panel back on the wires do not slip out of place and I don’t get any condensation any more.

I did think about the electrical tape option but I thought that maybe the prommie needs that water for something....

Now I just have to get my braid back on :), hope this helps

exact same prob i had mate...exactly where it used to touch the window.

I though that white wire was NOT a heater.I thought it was a temp sensor???

used seal string and left the wire arround the evap...didnt solve it 100%

hmm, maby it was just the wire providing a little bit of space between the tube that sorted it out. They are warm to touch though. there is more wire inside the rubber insulation btw, on the underside separated by some duck tape. I don’t like the idea of adding extra tape coz at end of day that waters still going somewhere it shouldn’t.

Its no surprise that there’s water there though. Having peeled back the rubber insulation and watching how quickly the metal pipe frost's over, and since the ambient temp inside case is about 10 degrees higher than on the outside, perhaps we just need a better method of keeping the tube away form the case window so the rubber isnt pressed up against it

Brwmogazos, I searched the B&Q website looking for a link for you for that lagging but I couldn't find it. I'll try and look else where.

Thanx matey...appreciate this...

currently i am waiting for my Mach 2 GT so i wont need it asap ;)

but it would be nice to apply some of it where the cap tube touches the side panel in the future...
