This game looks totally amazing. I can't wait for it to be released now.

Take a look at the trailer below.

What do you guys think of it?

I think it's awesome that we're going to have some British action on our hands

I don't think it looks amazing at all...

These kind of videos show you that the CoD franchise still knows how to market their stuff. But I hope for their sake that this is not what the gameplay will look like, because those graphics do not look good at all, they used explosions and things to draw your eyes away from the poor quality...And usually things look better in the trailers.

Also if the game is set in all these places then it looks pretty desperate, as if they tried to include major cities to get a more global interest. I haven't seen a good CoD plot for a while now...

They are very lucky they have such a loyal fan base, if CoD is going to beat Battlefield 3 this fall/autumn in terms of sales, imo its brand loyalty that will be the decisive factor.

This year will be the year when CoD fatigue begins to set in, and Activision will continue to milk it dry until it is just terrible. While competitors continue to innovate and make better games. It happened to Guitar Hero and its gonna happen to CoD.

With Black Ops you could sense that beginning to happen, but I think the death of CoD will be a good thing for innovation. Its just a cash cow now.

Are they still using a modified version of the buggy and dated quake3 engine?

Last time I played CoD was CoD4 and there were bugs from quake3.

Also are they still running on 20tickrate? or is that just on consoles

, I'm glad you said that. I just posted information in the Photo's of members topic.

Yes all the CoD games use the Quake 3 engine. I have worked on the Quake 3 engine for many hours, and the bugs do exist, but they're fixed with the CoD series. There are glitches such as hitting a model at a certain angle will force a player back etc... can be changed with a LUA fix easily. I still know of an exploit which is still unfixed in their games, and myself and 2 other people are only those who know of it. It affects all Quake 3 engine based games, from Solder of Fortune to MW2. You don't even need the game to do it, just IP:Port & Winsock.

Let's face it though, games are not about graphics also, it about gameplay and teamplay. I hate high graphical games where it's not about the skill or team play needed.

The snaps and maxpackets would be set at 20-40 yes, seems to be fine. Let's blame ISP's for the connection problems though tbh. I remember when Virgin Media broadband was owned by NTL.. I used to get 12 ping with 20snaps/tickrate, now I get 40-70ping at the same server and host.

My 2pence anyways:P

Not interested in this at all.

The game looks like Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare re-skinned.

The "high-octane" action and pace that the game will offer will still be available to me via Call of Duty: Black Ops, which I do not even own (borrow it from my cousin).

To be honest I'm getting bored of first person shooters. I didn't buy Crysis, wil not buy Modern Warfare 3 and probably will not buy Battlefield 3 either.

I liked the original Modern Warfare, as it was something different when it came out, but I feel the CoD series has lost its way somewhat. I still bought each subsequent release in the hope that they brought back the magic, but it's become somewhat of a generic cash cow for Activision and the gameplay has suffered as a result. I'll keep a close eye on this one and probably wait for some kind of demo before buying it this time, but looks like Battlefield 3 is gonna be much better at the moment in my opinion.

I remember back in the quake3 days we had servers running at snaps 60 and 100 and the hitreg was a lot better than I experienced in CoD4

Also know of many exploitable 'bugs' that people can take advantage of (online or on LAN)

spot on there, We had that massive leap when CoD 4 came out, W@W was pretty forgetable, MW2 was very good (solid campaign too) but there was no way it could top CoD4, and Black ops was ok, but i cant help feeling Im buying the same game every year. BF3 looks like it will be come the new yard stick in FPS, as i feel CoDs are treading water.

Instead of bring out a ***** game every year with tons of bugs, why don't they spend time on one an make it great?

Oh wait, they are money hungry developers who drive expensive cars and want the new one every year.

That is why they make rubbish games that are full of bugs and hacks every year that we pay over the top for.

still on IW engine 2.0........the are halting console development, unlike frostbite 2 which is almost forcing a non console release for battlefield. I didn't buy black ops and I wont be buying this.

a disgrace to the industry.

So much hate for COD

I see these games as Van Dame, Vin Diesel and The Rock films, you don't watch em for the Oscar winning acting (because there isn't any) you watch them for the action. Same with COD games, I don't play them because they are master pieces i play them because they are fun, fast paced, action packed FPS's.

I don't play the MP because I rage to much over hackers but i have enjoyed every COD game from the first one all the way to Black Ops, plus there isn't a better FPS series apart from MoH which just isn't as good as COD.

I find it funny how the trend in most of these comments is "CoD is getting worse. MW2 was good, but BlOps failed!". MW2 was the biggest heap of trash to hit the shelves. The multiplayer was imbalanced, the maps were terrible, and the service was shit. Then to go and say that Blops was terrible? You're joking right? Blops honestly, was a good step back to CoD4 in terms of multiplayer. The maps weren't completely balanced, the guns were so-so, but the perks were basically spot on. The basic judgement coming from these comments isn't from actual competitive multiplayer outlook, it's by general fun. Of course you're going to get bored of a series of games if they're just releasing new guns and maps and you play it every day, especially when you're not used to them, or you don't like them. A good example would be when they released Overgrown and Crash for MW2. The community went into a frenzy because of how epic it was to play CoD4 maps again. I still play CoD4, solely because it's everything I like in an FPS, and because the community is still strong, and the game is more balanced then any other FPS I play. Not to mention the competition is a lot stronger in CoD4 then any other of the series.

A lot of the time you will pass judgement on something because you are used to something, and you don't like the change, whether it be logical or illogical, or better or worse. Either way, it's their job to release games, and by continuing their AWARD WINNING SERIES, I'd honestly say they are in the right mind set. The multiplayer may be just alright, but their campaigns are generally a good run through.

It all depends on if there will be dedi-servers this time round. Modern Warfare (CoD:4) was the best CoD in my opinion. However I did not get MW2 because there was no way to run it as a clan game. We are running a Black Ops server at the mo, it's better than CoD:5 World at War but not as smooth as Modern Warfare was. So if Modern Warfare:3 has dedi-servers then the clan I'm in will rent a server and we will all get the game. That said we may all be way too busy playing Battlefield:3 to be bothered!

Sigh, the metagame is completely different between BF and CoD from a multiplayer perspective, they shouldn't be compared. Single player? Sure. Multiplayer? No

Hope they´ll have the effects like in BF3. Wrecks falling and killing you like in reality.

BF3 is a seriously challange for the guys making MW3.
