Modders mesh in england ?

So I do a lot of case modding and up until recently I've been ordering all my mesh from the states as I just couldn't find any in England that fit the bill mainly because England is still in the dark ages when it comes to a lot of supplies anyways.

Anyway does anyone know if things have changed and we are able to buy modders mesh in the UK ?

This is modders mesh, Mostly I've only found chicken wire in the UK and anything more costs an arm, A leg and your right nut and is cheaper to import from the states.

*22 gauge perforated plain steel. 1/4" hexagon holes with 9/32" staggered centers *

Been in the same boat fella, mesh or grille in this country costs about the same as a small yacht. I found a cheeky alternative to plastic mesh though and it's only £1 a A3 sheet (bonzai potting mesh), close weave and sprayed silver it's pretty cool.

As for alloy perforated sheet, wire mesh or grille, found nothing yet.

depending on how wide you need, look at the "max power" brigade, they love that mesh on cars.......

Quite annoying, I have had a look at the bonzai mesh but it's too flimsy compared to the sturdy steel mesh I use.

Well guess it's back to ordering from the states and hope England catches up to the rest of the world at some point ^_^

It gets even more annoying to think we used to be the worlds leaders in metal products and export...

Back a few years ago there was a big craze or boxing in your household radiators, they had a decorative metal panel inlay,it came in loads of patterns from holes to the iron cross. I'm not sure what it's called but it's bound to be available somewhere still

paul i think you can still get it at homebase and the like, also what about the mesh for under plaster could that not be used?

It was made by companies called Richard Burbidge and Winther Browne I used to sell it, you can still get it but the price now is just shocking.

EDIT: Winther Browne Screening Panel. ;)

Dont know if these are any good, or will be, but you can always look into it

I am not sure how much it costs in comparison to what you are already paying, Im sure there other places out there, but speaker grills are the first thing that popped into my mind when saw the hex sheet steel you had.

Thanks for the suggestion but the holes in the grills are way too small :(

Aye you can get mesh from B&Q but its not cheap. I actually still have a stash of AC Ryan's old stuff!

Nearly everything is expensive in England compared to the rest of the world, I'm shocked every time I come back.

My god those are hideous, KILL THEM WITH FIRE ^_^

Ok found cheap-ish perforated sheeting in the UK ;) At RS Components not to bad 500 x 500mm sheets roughly £8 each. Various designs and thickness.

You sir are awesome !

Having checked the prices though it seems it is still cheaper to import from the US, England, What a rip off country :(

Maybe I can email them and point out other places in the states are cheaper to import, They might do price matching.

Worth a punt :) I can see from their prices though, the more you order the more you save  which tells me they have pretty high margins and at least some wiggle room.

Over the top expensive for what it is from them :(

Not at £20 for a 500 x 500mm sheet, this is what were talking about.. it's just too damn expensive.

I import it from the states and it costs me with shipping for a 1000 x 500 honeycomb steel sheet a total of £17, In England it's nearly double for the same thing and that's without shipping, Rip off country :(
