Mod/Build Competition

Now, this suggestion I have isn't like a mod of the month or year award.

This is an idea I've had for a while.

The community here is great, "it's a family" as Tom has said multiple times before. I then realised there was no relation to the youtube channel and the members of this community, not that it has to be at all. This idea does indeed incorporate individuals of the community into the youtube channel a bit.

The downside to the competition would be the fact that it would be limited to UK (at a stretch France). Mainly because Tom wouldn't want to be flying to the US, Australia and other places most of the time.

So onto the actual idea. The idea is for Tom to visit peoples Mods/Builds along with his camera and tripod. Travel costs for Tom can be covered by the builder or modder. Tom would overview, review and conclude the product as Tom does usually. I believe it would help other PC builders and may give inspiration to beginner modders. The competition could be on a gold, silver, bronze award basis. Tom could also bring along misc products (such as sleeving, LED strips) that Tom thinks would improve the mod/build. Then at the end of the year, one lucky person from the people entered could be in with a chance of winning say a £200 specialtech voucher for example.

Obviously a decent place for Tom to record would probably be beneficial.

Looking from Toms point of view, I'd not want to travel for lets say 2 hours on a train to find the house I'm visiting stinks of dog shit.

Anyways, discuss your thoughts and opinions.

Not sure what kind of replies I'll get from this, but try to be nice.

TTL barely has time to get reviews done, yet alone travel to forum members house ever month. The modding compo would be good though, im sure TTL could find some sponsors... :p

I doubt that Tom would want to be travelling across the county just to view people's builds when they could just post photos on here :P He is a very busy man

I realise this of course, he has mentioned this multiple times that he is busy almost none stop. I agree that the travelling up and down is time consuming. However the rest of the idea is reasonable. In my opinion photos sometimes don't do builds/mods justice, if you get me drift

I can't speak for Tom but i think , he thinks its one BAD idea
I do to BTW... what made you think, he would want to go from user to user, just to get a picture ?!

Ray...

Because he has work to do :L He is busy enough as it is with doing reviews/videos and what not, there is no way he would be able to find the time to visit random people online to see there pc

Apart from that!

I had presumed he knew of another reason why Tom would not like the "visiting people" bit. Because I already stated that I knew that Tom is busy on a daily basis. That is of course if either of you can read posts, sorry to be rude :)
