Ok, now the twist comes in...

I plan to build the system later this month so that I can use it up till I join the USAF. Meaning I will leave it for 2 months then have to ship it across the country to my tech training location then to my station at whatever base I get. This makes me worry because if I grab a D14 it could really rape my system in that many relocations.

With previously said info in mind would you say the rig is worth it or should I grab an MSI GT680 notebook. Also, will the NH-D14 risk cracking my board or should I buy an H70 and deal with the noise?

All ideas are welcome and encouraged.

A big thanks is in order for all of you who make these forums such a great place. I can be a computer noob and dont have to worry about being flamed.

I can only talk based on my experience.

The rig will travel a lot, therefore smaller= better. This Antec case looks quite nice, although I would suggest going for something even smaller. If you are 100% set on the Antec, look around, you might be able to find something even smaller. I am currently running I5 2500k, with the same GPU you are planning to get, inside Lian Li PC-V354 case on the Asus P8P67-M Pro motherboard and its an absolute pleasure. The rig is on my desk, it is a size of 2 shoe boxes. I use H50 to cool my CPU, it runs at 4.5ghz with max temperature during 1h prime run around 60 degrees celsiuses. i would expect H70 would probably run even cooler. If you are worried about the noise just replace the fans with some quiet once. I use 2x120mm Enermax magmas in push/pull cannot complain.

I hope it helps a bit.

P.S. I could take few shots of the case and the inside in the evening when I get back home from work if this idea is something you would like to consider.

EDIT:

I had a fast google search and found some examples of the inside/outside view.

Case itself weights about 4kg.

The weight is nice but I have read this case does not support the H70 and most air coolers hit the PSU.

I am not worried about weight though. I will only have to pay for shipping once and that is inside the US so it should be under 50 bucks. After I get it to me in tech school the Air Force will move it for free. So even if I get stationed in the UK it will be shipped via cargo plane for free.

Edit: I am more focused on it taking a beating because UPS tosses packages about and the last thing I want is parts breaking.
