Mini itx build but with a twist,

Mini itx build inside a ps3 slim.

im thinking of building an itx pc inside a ps3 slim case, and i was wondering if i was going to build this how i would go about it . the main problem i think i would have would be the graphics card as the ps3 slim isnt tall enough for a full size video card or even a low profile video card, so i was thinking of using a 90 degree pci-e 16 x riser. http://www.xcase.co.uk/PCI-Express-16X-Riser-Card-Slim-Case-p/riser-xlps005.htm like this one but i am bit worried if this will decrease performance of any kind and how well it would last.

as for the specs of this itx rig i was thinking of moving my main rig into an itx form factor and my main rig is nothing special its an i5 with a hd6870 and a 500gb hdd.

but then again i am not sure of the video card since it is dual slot.

so after that i got thinking "what if i used an amd apu and used dual graphics with a low profile singleslot 6670 i would probably still need to use a 90 degree pci riser.

then the next obstacle to overcome is the power supply which after the hdd mounting and motherboard and maybe gpu mounting all thats left for the psu is a 12x8 cm space which alot of will be taken up by wiring and i have no idea how i would have the psu externally .

i was wondering i could use extension for all the internal connectors bundle all of them in one sleeve for the cables and have a psu used externally except unles i sleeve all the cabling and use a modular psu this wouldnt look very good but then again i could prob find a sff psu and try the same thing since the sff psu will be smaller and i could prob try make it look like a laptop power brick except its a psu and i think the only internal connectors will be a 24 pin motherboard connector, a 4 pin cpu power and 2 molex (i can use a molex to sata adapter to reduce the external/internal wiring)

also for the cooling i thought i could use the intel stock cooler but i thought i could prob find lower profile coolers just to save space and as for fans i will prob go for like 2 slim 80-90 mm fans either on the roof of the ps3 or some 40mm fans on the sides.

and i might go for a slim slot loading optical drive just for the sake of it.

im posting this on here to get your guys thoughts on this and how you guys would do things.

May I ask why you are building it inside a ps3 slim case, It is much easier just to buy an itx case and do that or just buy a regular sized case with an atx mobo

yes but that kind of defeats the point of what im trying to do and the main reason i want to do this is for fun and to do something different. i went for a ps3 slim case because my ps3 broke and i wanted to make use of the case instead of throwing it in a corner and forgetting about it.

A PS3 slim does seem very small for the usual PC components. How about trying to source Laptop components and building a powerful laptop within the casing?

I think Yass has it right there. I wouldnt want to put desktop components inisde a PS3, cooling would be a nightmare.
