The 32TB are SMR, but the 30TB are CMR drives. For almost all my use cases I avoid SMR. Just built a Truenas Scale server in a Storinator Q30 with 16x 18TB drives, would love some 30TB goodness in that lol. Like you said though, I'm sure they are cost prohibitive.

I would love 24 of them (30TB) for my primary Unraid server, and then another 24 for my secondary server, and then 10 for backup I won't get them though, got 6TB drives currently and my primary server is about 85% full.

With the 16x 18TB drives I did 4 4-drive vdevs in raidz2. During my testing I was getting 1 gigabyte transfer speeds copying data from an SMB share. The old NAS they were using would barely do sustained 60MB/s.
I'm not sure what the max speed of this set up is, but right now the bottleneck is the 10Gb nic.
