Maybe because PS5 is still almost impossible to obtain in most countries?
The only thing available here is the Xbox S so it stands to reason why it sold more.
I mean this alone makes the news not really worth commenting (sorry to be rude). Its not a good comparison in the slightest. Had everything been available, then perhaps It is good to know which has the higher popularity, but in this market, availability is everything.

Nobody wants the Xbox series S and hardly the X. They are easily obtainable. This makes complete sense seeing as PS5 is impossible to get.

Harsh, I'm really enjoying my Series X. Game Pass is incredible.
Even more incredible on PC
I havent even touched my Xbox once since i got GP ultimate.

I have both, but Forza Horizon runs smoother on the Series X for me. Also, can't beat sitting down on the sofa with a pad sometimes.

Call it harsh, fact of the matter is when the PS5 was sold out everywhere there were a ton of xboxs laying around in stores until people got tired of waiting...
And I can use GP plus a controller on PC with a TV on my couch too. Don't need a console for that though I acknowledge it's not entirely the same thing.

Microsoft must have had a magic 8 ball when it come making this easier to manufacture smaller counterpart. Most people just want a next gen console as a way to play the latest games properly, now that they can do that with their mates on any platform (As many AAA games now support crossplay), and at a very low price compared to the alternatives, they must be hoovering up new customers into their ecosystem/live service, many of which typically stick around long term

I know, was only messing with the harsh comment. I love having the option of all: PC, Xbox and PS. My TV is too far from my TV to hook up so just use them separately and find it more relaxing and easier to chill on the sofa with a console than sat up at my PC.
I must have been really lucky as got the XSX and PS5 both on my first try. I follow a PS5 online stock checker and there seems to be multiple stock drops every week now so things are certainly improving.
