Microsoft's reportedly in talks to acquire Discord for more than $10 billion

Yeah read about this, not really thrilled about discord wanting to sell, it will get changed or just entirely ruined by anyone that buys it, that said if it was Microsoft, it would probably be the least worse option.

Typical Microsoft business tactics, buy out any and all competitors if possible. Despite Microsoft's best effort to ram Skype down everyone's throat, for myself and my friends, we'd only use Skype as an absolute last option and only as a temporary thing if we have to.
I personally forsee them integrating the 2 brands in some way and perhaps even with teams so they have all voip under a single division but they might not, who knows.

Used to be an avid user of skype after Microsoft wrecked MSN messenger, and had to leave skype eventually because the features got worse and more stuff got put behind a paywall or more ads came in.

Discord itself is already pushing pretty hard for Nitro purchases, but atleast its not 3rd party ads.

Honestly I think MS is an improvement, I quite dislike Discord since their TOS basically gives them free reign on all your data. Their CEO publicly stated that "oh no, we don't collect that much, but having that legalese there prevents issues". Bull, a company their size has the resources to get their TOS reflect what they actually do.
