Microsoft's new "Xbox Wireless" will allow PCs to support Xbox One controllers without the need for wireless adapters/dongles.

Could be interesting, however I can already see it becoming "Windows 10 Exclusive" so it won't work for Linux or whatever other platform people wish to game on.

I already have the dongle for a controller and don't plan on adding any more devices soon so it won't effect me, however I'm still equal parts intrigued and apprehensive.

I thought I read it now has Bluetooth so it might work over Linux yet but yea best to let someone else be the guinea pig :D
 
Well if they released a Linux Bluetooth driver so it wouldwork properly on Linux then I think it would be fine. Unless they don't.. which they probably won't.

The linux community will come up with a third party driver that might take a bit of terminal work to make it work though
