I'd consider this if you have the game pass, considering this is digital, I do prefer buying hard copy if buying console games though as you can trade them in.

Remember that the Xbox Series X is marketed as a 4K up to 120FPS system. Developers can do 120 FPS is they choose, but most will decide not to.

We should hear the final specifications soon. If anything, I'd say that this makes AMD's Ryzen 7 3700X seem very overpriced. This thing should have eight Zen 2 cores.

No way of knowing yet really until we know RDNA2's performance(Comparing raw theoretical FLOPS ofc not too useful here). But if those rumours are true that an 80CU RDNA2 card is coming that's at least 30% faster than an RTX2080Ti, then would that not put a 56CU model (XbxSeX) capable of being within 10% of an RTX2080Ti?

I've heard the X is closer to An RTX 2080, as it can run Gears 5 at 4K 60 with PC quality settings.

On raw Tflops alone the Xbox is around the same as a 2080 Super.

How that will translate into real world performance? we don't know yet.

Remember that a GeForce 1050 Ti can run Fortnite at a higher than 120 FPS average (see here). So my guess is that some competitive games will have quality options to run at 1440p 120 FPS. I can't imagine AAA titles will run at max quality natively like that, but perhaps with upscaling.

Same way they justified selling XboneX for £450/$500 alongside a £249/$300 (Often even cheaper by then) XboneS I guess. Looks like they're matching their previous gen launch RRPs for each tier.

They will definitely be selling it at a loss or breaking even. They are banking on their subscription services to makeup the difference is how this pricing strategy looks to me.

I like their subscription service. I found it very worth while. Far better than EA Vault ever was. I think i have enjoyed around 20 titles from XB GPass ultimate. And some are top titles.

That does seem to me what this console is aimed at, And considering MS were going full digital with Xbone this seems a good way to test the water

I personally believe it will be a big success. Not only do we get all these free titles, but.. you do get a decent discount on the store should you wish to purchase any outright.

With Epic and MS now being aggressive, its really working in our favour. Something I havent seen for a long time.

Quick question, for the MS games service, do you download and play the games or is entirely streaming/cloud based? I'm under the impression it's cloud based which for me is a waste of time. I don't see the point in adding latency and ruining my gaming experience. Whether it's single player or not

Game Pass works similarly on Xbox as it does on PC, you just download the games in the pass from the Store as if you owned them, would definitely recommend for PC or otherwise, ofc on Xbox it's more or less every exclusive on the system you get for it besides all the multiplat ones on there

Their streaming service is XCloud which I think is bundled with the Game Pass Ultimate subscription, or will be.
