Xbox One Controller For Windows

If like many of the gamers out there you like to lean back and have a go at a game now and again that doesn't require a mouse and keyboard i.e Sleeping Dogs, Saints Row, FIFA etc...then a controller is a fantastic investment, Thankfully Microsoft have seen the light and are about to release a controller built solely for windows.

Microsoft recently released a driver that enabled standard Xbox One controllers to be able to be used with a PC but only when connected via USB.

The main difference it seems is that you don't need separate drivers to be installed with this updated controller, But the real allure is the wireless feature which is also compatible with existing Xbox One's but no official word has been given regarding a wireless dongle for PC's that we saw with the previous Xbox 360 Windows controller.

The controller is scheduled to be released in November for an RRP of $59.99 which translates to around £39.99 here in the UK and will be compatible with Windows 7, 8 and 8.1.

Never held a Xbox One controller, actually I have in game but never took notice tbh. Don't know if its worth buying since I have the black wireless 360 for PC which is great.

i still use the s type originall controller from the 1st xbox just need a few drivers from the internet. and some games you have to put a couple of files with the EXE. but its more than acceptable. als compatable with windows xp, 7, 8, 8.1.. so if you still use xp then ithats a better bet.
dont think i will rush out to buy an xbox one controller.
and if i was going to buy a controller i would probably buy a 360 controller, because they are fine and cheaper to buy any way..

Still its nice to see MS giving us drivers for the pc for a change.
now where is that driver you promised us that would enable FFB on the 360 FFb wheel MS?

Looks good but I'm still happy using the 360 wireless controller on windows for the time being. Still works on all the games I play :)

360 is for me the perfect control :)
Plus i like my xbox 360 controller that i changed the LED's in so i have a blue light instead :)

I also have a heavily modded 360 controller, gloss black shell, smoked black buttons and red LED's. I use it for anything tbh and i'm sure I will continue to use it with one of my rigs.

My friend however has been telling me that the new One controllers will work with WiFi direct and hence not need a dongle. That would be a pretty big deal and immediately make me want one for JR2.0 where cutting down on IO clutter is of great importance. I hope that happens and I look forward to finding out more.

thats seems cool im sure wont be too hard to mod the new one :)
Mines not as modded as yours i just wanted blue leds to match KB nd mouse

I got myself a Speedlink Xeox Pro Analogue Wireless Gamepad.

It's got a lovely slightly rubberized finish, Has red LED's instead of green, The battery pack is built in and very slim line compared to the original 360 pad, Including rumble/vibration.

Recharges with a mini USB cable to a 550 mAh Li-polymer battery for up to 10 hours of use and connects via an included wireless dongle.

Also has the ability to switch between XInput and DirectInput depending on which games support what :)
