Microsoft releases more detailed Halo 5: Forge PC system requirements

So no windows below 10. I5 6600k not up to the task running ultra settings?
Also seems 16gb ram needs to replace " you only really need 8gb for gaming".

Good job I got a Xeon E3-1231 v3 and 16GB of RAM when I built my HTPC. I'll be laughing once I've got a new GPU and monitor.

It probably takes advantage of HT. So I7 is what they recommend. 16GB has been the new norm for a while now for AAA games

Didn't realise this till lately. When choosing my build a few months ago there was a lot of loose advice on just get a skylake i5 and 8gb ram if you only intend to game. Glad I went a step further.
Always thought HT was more hindering than beneficial as a prerequisite in gaming?

When you get new reviews giving out this kind of advice, it won't help much either

I5 is more than adequate. The i7's are worth there money, however in games, the price increase over an I5 devalues it's worth. This is why I5's have been so commonly recommended. But as games are getting more core friendly(thanks to Vulkan/DX12) HT will become more used(and useful) to game performance. Sure it won't blow you away but it will at least not devalue it as much over an I5.

HT is not a prerequisite, but like I said, as more games start using it more often, they list the I7 as a recommended CPU because it will take full advantage of the HT feature they implemented. But it's just a recommended spec, not a minimum.
