Microsoft discontinues then resumes windows 7 retail

This is good as no one whants a xbone dashboard on there desktop lol.
I'd still be running XP if it had DX11 support the only reason i even run windows on my main computer is for gameing all my outher rigs and laptops run debian and puppy.
Hopefully steam os kicks off and i can finaly remove the unstable unsecure buggy mess known as windows for good...

The article refers to the retail selling of windows 7.
With all the problems they have had with 8 and 8.1 , they have decided to continue to sell windows 7.
I'm not sure about support dates for for all the versions.
 
support for windows 7 runs out in 18 months so I read somewhere, and xp in 4 months no idea if that's right or not just remember reading it.

As for 8.1 it's fine I'm running it with no problems, just changed some settings so it boots to desktop and uses the normal IE not metro 1, after that it's just sorting metro out the way you want it and it's no different then going start programmes in win 7
