Microsoft details Assassin's Creed: Origin's Xbox One X enhancements

But is it worth the extra money for most console players? I don't believe so

Yeah, that is the question. Some people will be happy to pay for the best consoles and higher resolutions, but if it still plays fine on the old model most people won't switch.

A lot of the reason behind Xbox One X is to increase mind share, have the best high-end console and hopefully gain low-end Xbox One S sales on the back of that.

One other key feature of the Xbox One X is faster load times in older Xbox One games (or any game that lacks X support) as it will use its extra RAM as a storage cache for faster load times.

Long story short is that only certain people will be attracted to the X. Though it will also make the standard model look very cheap by comparison, which helps.

It may also attract PC gamers that want to also have a console living room experience but can't stand the current visual fidelity of games on consoles. That's kind of where I'm situated. Will have to see when it comes out.

That is another good point, especially with the whole "Xbox Play Anywhere" thing. The New Forza etc will work on both systems.

Very attractive to PC gamers, no 900p 720p games, 4K Blu Ray player and a potential bank of games that you already own if you use the Windows 10 store.

I imagine that some people are also annoyed with PC gaming ATM with the high price of NAND, DDR memory and mid-range GPUs. Perfect time for a high-end console.

I think MS are going in the right direction with the Xbone, with play anywhere and backwards compatibility for 360 games

I agree on both your points.
For console players it's a very niche group that will. Like me for example, I own a PS4 Pro, but I'm the only person I've ever met that has one.

But for PC players, I think it's a great investment, however it does depend on what you'd like to play. No sense in buying it for FPS games. Unless of course you're friends are on it. Just depends. I'd buy it, but I am a Sony fanboy so I won't. I'm already happy with what I've got.
