Microsoft is expected to layoff around 700 employees this week, as part of Microsoft's previously announced plans to cut 2,850 roles by the end of 2017's fiscal year.

Not surprising. Not many people want to work for them anymore. They have the highest recruitment rate out of all the big companies. Meaning that they lose more employees to FB, Google, Apple, etc than they are hiring.
