It's time for a Port Report. Let's have a look at Metal Gear Solid V's performance, game settings and controller options.

Nice article thanks. Good to know my Fury X will be good at 4k, too.

Shame about the 60 FPS cap but I'm on 60hz so it doesn't matter to me :)

Seems to be extremely well optimized, Still need to finished Ground Zeros perfectly for the PP save import feature for the extras but it's good to know it will perform well :)

Shame you couldn't test a Fury X and 980 Ti at 4K ^_^

Didn't need to, based off the 980/fury you would know they both would cap the 60fps limit basically 24/7:p
Very impressive for AMD considering this is a Gameworks title. They must have tried to get them on a more even playing field due to the apparent extensive optimizations they did.

Not a Gameworks title bud, The only thing Nvidia about it is the splash screen at startup, Zero amounts of Gameworks going on :)

Article says its a gameworks title...

Well I think the article is ever so slightly wrong as the Gameworks library is not used in this game.

At no point does it say anywhere either on Nvidia's site or on the MGS home page any info about Gameworks being used.

The only things Nvidia supports are things every new game lately supports i.e multi GPU, DSR etc... but that's more on the driver level.

Previous articles before the game came out mentioned that Nvidia would help with shadow features and such but I can't see anything in game or on the aforementioned sites.

If Gameworks features were actually in the game i.e HBAO+, Hairworks, Physx etc... then Nvidia's page would mention it like they do with all the games they sponsor like the example below -

I'm guessing Nvidia just helped during development so they could really hone the performance on their GPU's.

Oh well the article needs updating I suppose. It's a pretty neutral game it seems. Runs well on any hardware. If they took away the 60FPS limit then we could really see how each one performs:)

Indeedy, I honestly don't have anything against Gameworks features as such as I think they look very pretty I just don't like seeing them implemented and AMD not being able to see the source code so they cant optimize for their cards.

AMD gave Nvidia the source code for TressFX as that originally at first ran like a dog with extreme scabies on Nvidia cards, Nvidia were able to look at the source code and BOOM brilliant performance.

Nvidia have always and will always be an IP hog. They will always be closed source. It's just in there nature. Not always a good thing though. They aren't in a market like Apple where being closed source will still earn you money. The market they are in is much more sensitive and being closed source could also be your downfall.

To test the top cards and possibly pairs of them, you could see how DSR fairs - seriously ramp up the quality and the load on the GPUs.
