Hi

I'm looking to install new rams into my laptop. Just wondering how I could measure the difference between the new and old one? What kind of program/software do I need, and how do I know which one is better? I mean do the programs test data input/output per second or something?

Thanks!

Aida64 has ram benchmarks built in, I would use that.

Yeah, I've tested that already. However, if I use trial version then the write and copy tabs are covered with [Trial Version]...

I tested PassMark, but don't understand how it work. I get different data from it compared to Aida64. For example, I got 12k MB/s on read in Aida, but on Passmark it starts on 6K MB/s goes up to 9k and then down to 300MB/s depending on block size which I'm not sure what means.

Every program has a different baseline number set. Even between different versions of Aida, the numbers are not reliable. You just need to test it with your old ram, and new ram, and that will tell you the improvement.

As far as the trial version, I can't comment on that, other than to check out youtube. Piracy instructions on forum's is frowned upon :).
