Ok Chaps...

I am getting the following error "machine_check_exception" and also the random reboots

From what I have checked out it could be my memory which is TwinMOS DDR 400 Dual Channel 512mb model : M2G9108A-TT

I have checked abit's website and while TwinMOS is listed the model chips that I have is not there...

which is the best memory to get..

Thanks in advance for any help

Alright Chap,

Are you overclocking? If you are lower you fsb by 2 - 3 MHZ

I kept getting that error with my 3400, when I was slighty over the wall of the chip!

Have you tried running memtest?

Nope. All at default levels.

if I take on of the sticks out so I have 256mb ram in all seems ok...

i have also taken off what i dont need like CD Rom, extra hdd's and there is only a graphics card installed.

Can you run prime with 1 stick in?

Run the ram with both sticks, using a divider of 166... to determine it is the ram...

Also what board are you using, power supply & what bios?

found this info from Microsoft. Not looking good

SYMPTOMS

You may receive the following Stop error message: STOP: 0x0000009C (0x00000004, 0x00000000, 0xb2000000, 0x00020151)

"MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION"

The four parameters inside the parentheses may vary.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because your computer processor detected and reported an unrecoverable hardware error to Windows XP. To do this, the processor used the Machine Check Exception (MCE) feature of Pentium processors or the Machine Check Architecture (MCA) feature of some Pentium Pro processors. The following factors may cause this error message: •System bus errors•Memory errors that may include parity or Error Correction Code (ECC) problems•Cache errors in the processor or hardware•Translation Lookaside Buffers (TLB) errors in the processor•Other CPU-vendor specific detected hardware problems•Vendor-specific detected hardware problems

Ram memtest86+ V1.30 FOR 8hrs & 56mins with a total of 55 passes and not one error

Ram Setting - 204MHz (DDR408) Cas 2.5-3-3-8 Dual Channel 128 bit

Going to rebuilt my PC and see what happens... :(

this is proving to be a pain in the butt now

having run Prime95 i am getting errors when the memory is setup as dual channel.

if i move the memory so that it shows as single then prime95 works ok and I get no errors...

humm...
