MCW60 & 8800... Anyone else using this combo?

I have the 8800gts and the mcw60.

Thanks to Ayd @ ST I have the adaptor plate ( :worship: )

Taking off the heatsink reveals the G80 core - it is HUGE - like a 50-60mm square.

Looking at the mcw60 the copper plate is about the same size as the G80 core, BUT it has a raised square centre, reducing the contact area to something like a 2-3cm square.

My question is - is this right? Did swiftech change the copper plate since the release of the 8800 (to a totally flat plate) as I have the version I used with the 7900 series...

Depending on how brave you are, you could rip the IHS off the 8800. Don't know about any MCW60 design changes tho tbh.
