Hello i would like to ask what gpu is maximum recommended for my old i5 760 cpu 3.8 ghz oced?

I would like to upgrade next month. Rig specs are in my signature below..Greetings:)

Heyyo,

Well, even that older i5 can still perform well since it's a decent quad core and yours is overclocked so it would be faster than an i3-4370 or a stock AMD FX-8350. I'd recommend up to the NVIDIA GTX 970 or AMD R9 390 or if you wanted to save some cash, go for an AMD R9 380 or NVIDIA GTX 960. Just get whichever has the lower price with a non-reference cooler. Both those pricing margins are very similar performance wise too so in the end I'd go for cost-efficiency for your country's pricing. Besides, once DirectX 12 and Vulkan games start rolling out? The CPU won't be nearly as important as a beefy GPU so your CPU won't hold back your GPU nearly as much as current DirectX 11 and OpenGL games do.

Looking over the rest of your system? Your RAM is a little slow with 1333 MHz and only 4GB, so you could always consider jumping up to 8GB (2x4GB kit preferably) DDR 1600. It could help with framerate stability on loading objects or details. That's the only other thing I'd consider really upgrading since the rest seems pretty good.

I'd go for the best GPU you can irrespective of whether it is a bit bottle-necked by your current rig. That way you have a good GPU to take over to new components when you upgrade the rest...

Go for any GPU you want. Bigger the better, your system wont impact its performance in anything you will throw at it in real world terms. However, if your looking at playing modern games, you will need more than 4GB RAM (8 currently is fine) and get the fastest RAM your MOBO will support ideally. Also get yourself a SSD, will improve your system speed massively.

Thank you guys..i will upgrade to 8 gb ddr3 1600..because 8 gb is max on my low cost asrock h55 m-le mobo..it says up to 2666 mhz on her box..and i decided to go with amd gpu, because of Vulkan,,,and i read that nvidia will force gfe bloatware ,and after kepler gimp fiasco 970 scam i decide to not buy their products anymore. This i5 760 cpu is very old but still running games fine i am happy.I do not have money to buy new mobo and cpu too much big investment for me,and ssd is useless on my 2.0 board..bye

The R9 380 would be my recommendation in this instance, the 4GB version. However, there is a new Tonga based GPU that's been hinted for release soon and it might be best to wait for that? It may be THE 200 pound card we have been waiting for.
