First off sorry about weird layout, its taken from another forum i had this posted on!

hey guys, i got my 7970, worked fine for about 2 hours,
then this happend:
but after about 1 minute it stops doing this and has a bad flicker to the monitor,

My second screen VIA DVI-VGA addapter works fine while this happens,
i tried changing it to 59 hertz and i'll see if it helps but i just wanted to post this,

i'l change the HDMI cable and try a DVI too, so dont bother suggesting them

Update : i got it down to 59 hertz and it's been fine ever since,

UPDATE 2: It happend again, even at 59 hertz, it only seems to effect the primary monitor, anyone have any idea's?
im onto DVI cable now, so i'll see how that works out for now, i'll kick it back up to 60 hertz for now, until i see more problems

i'm using DVI and it hasnt done it so far, but it happens mainly in windowd things, like internet explorer and general computer use, gaming full screen has not been affected

UPDATE:
I had to change back to the HDMI but while i was using the DVI flawless,
Once i changed back to HDMI, i think aroun 10 minutes out of full screen game, it did it again,
it seems to effect only the primary monitor however..

So yeah, i might have to go pick up a DVI cable for now, but i don't really like this being here at all, especially with a brand new $550 GPU (yes AU prices are retarded)

Any help, please its not bad but its annoying, have to reboot!

I do have the same phenomenon but not as frequent as you, im using hdmi->dvi (this monitor flickers with almost the same stuff you have) and one on dvi->vga (whcih continues to run without a problem).

No help but.. youre not alone?!

How often are you getting this?
i've had the card for 1 week now and it's happened ~4 times

I get this like once every 3-4 days, mostly in the evening so i dont even bother restarting and go to bed.

My card is neither overclocked nor running any kind of warm so i dont really know where this is coming from..

Since it doesnt happen all that often i just suck it and wait for some drivers or stuff that might be fixing it? I really dont know :(

i think it may be drivers too!
because if i unplug my main monitor, it changes to my second (that is now primary)

Wh y didn't you RMA the card ?!

Well to be honest it doenst bother me much since its pretty rare compared to santa
and i somehow believe that this isnt a hardware-issue.

It would be complicated to rma since i got it watercooled now and bought it vio my workplace to save taxes and stuff, so as long as it doenst happen everyday i really am not concerned that much ;)

Because i waited 1 week, and since this is a semi consistent problem
all day yesterday it did it once, rebooted and gone..
so im not too botherd, just to see if people could work this one out..
i'll wait to next drivers to RMA it. i love this card too much :D

another thread was similar about krazed monitor output..
check your power options "Link Power Management".

start>control panel>power options>change plan settings>change advanced power settings
