Mach II / I Control boards

Just so you all know, (seeing as nVentiv have gone bust, and Phil please tell me if I'm not actually allowed to do this!!) I'm currently trying to redesign a new Mach II control board, and control system. Going to see if it will work with the Mach I aswell to try to kill the reset problems and such like.

It will be much more simple and won't have the USB capabilities or display capabilities to start with, but it could be what those ppl need to bring those borked Mach II's back to life again.

I'll let you all know how I get on if I can find the equipment I need to do this properly, and if I actually figure out how to do it properly using high street components.

I looked into this a long while ago you could use a freezer controler to control the compressor the only problem there is you need another circuit to hold the mobo in reset still unless you use a simple timer ie time how long it takes for the evap head to get down to temperature 2mins say then the timer brings in a contactor and bang on she goes

fatty - The timer was the option I was going to go for if I couldn't get a PIC program built to run. Similar to nVentivs but more simple.

Standin Wave - PM Sent :).

The information that Standin Wave has could solve all the problems and could enable me to create a new revised Mach II control board, and MAYBE a completely new control board for the Mach I units aswell. Obviously the Mach I controller won't have the amount of features the Mach II does but there could be the posiblitly of running the Mach II display on the Mach I if I can get the correct LCD controllers and get the PIC programmed correctly.

Features I will try to include in the revision IF I can get the current Mach II board figured out are -

- Added fan control on the board

- Thermal fan control

- Use of Matrix Orbital LCD's to be able to display the evap temps direct from the control board as apposed to MBM5's proc readout only. (Need to get me a Matrix Orbital before this can happen)

These features MAY work, it all depends on how limiting the nVentiv board is.

I was playing around with a serial lcd for a while using lcdinfo you use that combined with mbm and you get a display of temps usage speed etc etc also you can program it yourself I did some simple stuff but in the end i ripped it out of my pc as it was just another thing to plug in and run lol

Mach I owners, are you ready??

Ok guys, first major update of this one.

I think I have figured something out for the Mach I reset problems. I have drawn up a circuit diagram which I will whack into PCB Wizard later to give me a PCB layout. This should sort out all reset problems on the Mach I, no matter what system or board it is used with, without the need for ANY additional PSU or gear, except this board obviously.

I'll update once I've checked through it and I'm pos it will work. Still working on the Mach II

Hiya mate,

Sorry took a while to post been havin net probs. Yes I did get this to work in the end with my Mach 1. If I can find the right relay for this again I will whack a few together and put them into the For Sale section.

If your interested PM me and I'll see what I can do.

Cheers

Does anyone know if Phil is still selling Mach 2 control boards?

Mein has been giving me false temp readings for over a year now. About time I got myself a new one.
