Mach II GT on a Winnie...

I have just stuck my Mach II GT on a 3500 Winnie which is in a DFI nF4 Ultra D.

Now I can get the boot sequence to start and windows even begins to load, but then the machine resets itseld and starts to boot again. It does this in a loop basically.

You get that clicking noise just as it reboots. This I ususally associate with not enough Vcore.

However I am at stock settings, just trying to get the thing to boot up.

Is this the famous Winchester sub-zero bug that I am seeing? Anyone know the symtoms of that bug.

I might have to hang on for one of the new Venice chips then if this is the case...

Thanks

im not sure if its different all the time but my winnie when i tried to use it with my mach just didnt boot at all, i would get everything powering up but nothing actually happening (the 4 lights would even do there usual thing as cpu detection etc)

I'm in now. Not sure what the issue was.

So i now have a sub-zero winnie :D

My Winnie 3500/DFI SLI on a mach2 was great.

The original BIOS was not so sub zero friendly.

I found that setting the start-up temp to -30 was what would work best for me, but I started with start up temp set to -10 and worked my way up.

I think the sub zero bug was more of a BIOS issue than CPU, MSI mobos are renowned for not liking winnies and sub zero.

HAving said all that my winnie was a wk49 of 2004 and I think the newer ones were better in the cold than the original batch.

Cheers
