Mach 2 GT and PC71

Hello,

I'm thinking of going for a Mach 2 GT to replace my watercooling set up. But is it possible to put a Mach 2 unit into a PC71 (NOT 61)? I assume the aluminium kit won't fit. Anyone succeeded with a PC7x Lian Li case? Some pics?

Thanks

it doesn't go "in" your case mate, it fits underneath, you just need to cut a slot for the capilary tube to come thru and dril some holes that match with the holes on the Mach2 to secure it. I managed to get it inside my old case which is not very deep and is cramped, but there was a support beem going from one side to the other which i was worried would put un-even pressure on the head so i took it all out and just run it off the mobo tray atm :D

Thanks m8 for your answer. I wish you had some piccies as I don't quite understand the need for a slot for the capilary tube. But well. I really don't have an idea of how big this thing is and I wish I could see that in a case the size of the Lian Li PC7x. Mine is also really cramped because of the double watercooling circuit I put in (2 pumps, 2 rads, 3 wblocks) But Of course, I'll be able to get rid of the CPU dedicated watercooling circuit. But I'll keep the one for my GC and chipset.

I saw you went for a PC65 for your Prommy. Was it because integration is easier?

Without question it is easier to integrate the Mach II with a Lian PC60 or 65. Regards the PC71 it is definitely possible but it is a LOT of work - you need to basically buy a stock Mach II, remove it from the housing, and then drill the relevant support holes inside the 71. You then need to pop the compressor inside the case, support it properly with the bolts, and then place the rad and fans either side - you then need to work out exactly where the cables will flow, and where/if you want the display then you need to mod the housing for that - then, you need to plan the airflow - if you dont do it properly you end up with a hot compressor inside a hot machine and this goes against every principal of cooling. This is probably the hardest part really - I wish you luck.
