I keep losing songs from my music drive.

For example.. I have all of Anthraxs Albums, I go into the fold with them in and the songs are still there but will not play and infomation is missing.

Check piccar! :(

What shall I do?

Yeah, like the normal.

How big, what to open it with location.

But nothing in the summary. :eh:

@Ham - Already did that matey! :)

So when u goto the properties thing, those 2 files have no info in them and that`s why they`re not displaying in an explorer window.

I take it the info used to be there then ?

Yep all info used to be there.. let me just check a working file.

Edit: Working files have the summary filled in with Artist and names and lengh of song.. so on.

This is what im doing now. :o

Moving all 50GBs of stuff to another HDD and then going to scan this beast for bad sectors.

Then I made Zero the drive. Reformat and then see where I am..

If none of this works well, I will Buy a new HDD! :(

 I Have jus had a similar problem and windoze kept crashing & Forcing CHKDSK, even After spyware & virus sweep.

After fresh install it was still doing it :banghead: Thought it was HDD problem so i installed Hard Drive Inspector Couldn't spot any probs, installed Speedfan

Not much of note until i notice the voltage's were all over the place.

Okay that just scared me sooo.. I got the multimeter out..

And my 12v line is running at 12.77v and the 5v is at about 5.33.

That to me sounds okay! ;)

Anyone disagree?

I got a single track stuck on my OS drive of my main pc. Can`t move it, can`t play it. The drive is ok, it`s just effed at the filesystem level. Lazily working around it atm >.<

Well as I speak the drive is getting checked...

Once that is done I am zeroing and then new format on it..

Hopefully that will fix most errors! :)

Will post back with results.

That happens to my data disk when i try to access something while its being checked (scandisk) - this wouldnt be happening (or similiar) would it

Right, finsihed sorting the drive out now.

Is there a program that scans drives and files for errors or something a little weird?

Just so I don't see anymore corruption. :)

You Could try Diskeeper Set it to "Boot Time Defragmentation" with the folowing options

  • Defragment the paging file
  • Defragment the Master File Table
  • Run the system CHKDSK utility before Defragmentation

  • Produce the summary log file

12.77 seems high. Isn't it supposed to be only .3 fluctuation?

Im not sure to be honest. :eh:

But it doesn't seem to go much lower than that?!

Well if it is .3 which I'm pretty sure it is, then you should change your PSU regardless imo.

Guys won`t like it, but anything up to 13.10 ~should~ be ok depending on how crap the components are. 5% or 10% tolerance. Can`t see 10.9 being that sucessful tho.
