Right i currently own a pair of ATH-M50's

im looking for a mic attachment to use with it for online gaming, now i remember a little while ago somebody posted a link to a website which designed some kind of magnetic mic which attached to 3rd party headphones and stuff, like it wasn't shit either very highly regarded now for the life of me i cant find the bookmark!

does anyone have any idea what im on about?

You're thinking of the modmic.

If it's for online gaming - the quality is massively limited by the games anyway, and therefore other than for something like convenience with something like the modmic, there's really no need to spend anymore than £5 on a cheap lapel mic or monitor mountable mic from maplin or amazon.

I have an Antlion modmic.. love it :) expensive I guess, but is easily one of the best mic's out there to compliment headphones, if nothing else, just for it's ease of use.

Modmic, thats what im after, Sub hows the build quality and stuff? i dont mind paying for stuff as long as its worth the money, if that makes sense

Worth EVERY penny, I suggest the version without the detachable cable if they have the option. I know they were developing a new one that detaches but the sound quality/background noise amount changed and I think the previous one (the one I got) is better.

You'll have to pay import tax as well, but honestly it's still worth every penny. The main boom is like a bendable positionable metal with a mic on the end, this can be set to a length and position that's comfortable, attaches via a neodymium magnet (don't panic it doesn't affect your cans). And comes with a foam cover for the mic as well. Sound quality is top notch, cable is plenty long enough to get to the back of the case as well.

I highly recommend it, it's one of those things you buy once and then probably never need to replace.
