Looking for a 24" gaming monitor. I would like to find one preferably with speakers as I can connect my 360 to it but its not a must as I can live without it...and i play most my games on pc anyway. Im just looking for the best out there without breaking the bank. 3D not a must (not a big fan of it). any recommendations?

Iiyama to inexpensive and great monitors to look at.

Although I'd personally go with a Dell 24" IPS monitor.

Mate I highly recommend the BenQ XL2410T.

It's super cheap at $249 Australian Dollars. It's 23.6 inches, 1080p, 120Hz and 3D ready. Height adjustable, swivel and portrait mode. it also supports Picture In picture and has HDMI as well, so it will work with your Xbox 360 out of the box.

I think for the features and price it's definitely the best 24" monitor available. Hope that helps!

i hrd this monitor has viewing angle problems...is this true? also im not particularly interested in 120hz so titling the topic as "gaming" monitor was probs a mistake but a solid 24 inch monitor at a decent price is what im looking for. also i hear that 120hz compromises the contrast ratio which is not really what im looking for. but is this noticable?... maybe an ips would be recomended? cheers for ur patience and help guys.

I've never heard of the refresh rate having anything to do with the contrast ratio so not too sure about that one. I just suggested that as it is a solid 24" at a very decent price. 120Hz is awesome, makes your games a hell of a lot smoother that's for sure. Once you try it, you don't settle for anything less. Plus even though you may not be completely interested in 3D at this time, the feature is still there, if you wish to go down that road in the future. As for the viewing angle problems, haven't heard of any major problems, as far as I know it's a very solid monitor for the price. Speaking of IPS monitors, the picture quality is amazing, yes. However, they suffer from input lag and quite low refresh rates. And since you've said you're looking for a sort of cost effective monitor, IPS is definitely not. They are quite expensive. But it is up to you in the end. Hope that helps

Hello,

Ive had the 24" Iiyama Prolite E2473HDS for a wile now and i cant find anything bad to say about it, the contrast is great, the viewing angles are great and its relatively in expensive for a monitor this good.

It also has speakers, which aren't all too bad considering their built in, and a number of video inputs you can choose from.

Hope this helps mate

What ever you do stay away from AOC. I have the e2343f, it's way too bright and it seems as though it can't display certain shades of grey.
