Look Here ;)

The hole Source Vs 1.6 thing gets right on my nerves. It always seems to be 1.6 players slagging off source aswell 1.6 might be better gameplay wise but thats because theyve had years to perfect it and well, the graphics arent exactly advanced lol. Source admitedly does have some big issues though. Either way, CS is CS :)

There is more skill involved when playing CS as opposed to 'Source'! CS has smaller hit boxes, so your aim had better be good. I like Source though myself, it's better on the eyes :)

I played CS since the beta days and now play CSS.

I don't like CS anymore even though the reg is better, i prefer the gfx of CSS.

Having played CS for so long, CSS is a refreshing change :)

changing the radar, and adding this new thing where by if you look at an enemy for long enough they appear on your whole teams radar...

i posted this update in irc earlier

its basically what sub said, but they are changing how it looks aswell

also changin de_train, adding hdr to it and changing layout

I think it would be a pretty cool idea the whole radar idea, we'll see how it turns out when it does come out, I really like the hdr lighting on some maps.

RADAR? thats stupid... you can see where everyone is... takes away from the game... then u wont be suprized when you get shot from behind.. u dont learn anything from that u dont gain any skill.

you get better if you know where everyone is from practise rather then cheating.. that also make n00bs 100 times better and like i said u dont learn from that.. and then when you go to play another game u dont have that radar there.. so your basically cheating yourself there

I'm guessing the radar only shows where the person is temporarily, AK it only shows the enemy if the person who looked at them stares at them long enough, they don't mention how long you must look at the person to the name to appear.

Here is the actual text:

Soon, we'll be releasing the first in a series of updates to Counter-Strike: Source which will be focused on moving the core Counter-Strike gameplay forward.

The first update will include an updated version of the map Train, which will feature an HDR lighting pass, some minor layout changes, and a number of small bugfixes.

The second facet of this release will be a completely reworked radar system. There will be a significant change to the aesthetics of the radar, but there are also some fairly significant gameplay ramifications to the new system. One example: when you look directly at an enemy for a long enough time for their name to appear on your screen, everyone on your team will be able to see that enemy in the radar. We're planning on releasing this first update in about two weeks.

it will encourage teamwork on public servers, when you cant say "hes in b", u can view the radar and check. in reality, matches wont be affected because the call will be made on teamspeak/vent long b4 u hover long enuf for the name to appear.

and tbh, if i get my crosshair one someone for 3 seconds, they will be pretty deadified

LOL true that! Who keeps someone in their crosshairs long enough alive for it to matter?

cheers.

Sounds like the new radar system is actually going to be pretty darn cool, should be be interesting to check out.

And I'm glad they are doing something with train, it's not a bad map as it is, but definately not a map I would pick to play on.
