Hey guys, been dealing with a ROLLER BALL mouse (how 1980's) for the last 2 weeks cos me optical died..... :( so have been gettin pwned on CS

I'll be the proud owner of the Logitech G5 tomorrow (don't mind the cable so didn't get the G7) and wondered how many of you guys find a big difference in your gaming in FPS with a very sh@t hot mouse...

I used the G5 at a mates on Sunday and it rocked, and also, do the weights make a difference? I didn't get to test them out.

Nice one lads.......

ps - Im Bauers Evil Twin on Cs........... :D

With the Razor Diamondback I find that it makes a huge difference in CSS: even compared to my old M$ optical mouse. Smooth response time and the buttons are helpful. I can't comment on the weights: but I've heard they're very useful :)

Yup my G5 is the shit... It's so smooth, the tracking is PERFECT, and being able to control the sensitivity on the fly is a sweet in game feature.

The weights rock too... I actually filled my cartridge up with all of the 4.5g weights to make it as heavy as possible, I like a solid feeling mouse.

U won't be dissapointed by the G5, it's a pleaser!

Hey Eguy!! Course I remember ya!

My new G5 is wicked.... by digital camera is at my old dears so couldn't take any pics and post yet.... 8 (

Question - not sure if it should be posted here... but hey, here goes....

I can't for the life of me set the thumb button on the G5 to reload in CS. When Im in the buttons console in CS settings, and try to edit the reload key, it doesn't recognise my thumb buttons or either of the side scroll buttons!!

Can anyone help me with this problem? Its killing me!!

Cheers boyz!

Hey Al

Have ya tried checking the Logitech drivers tio see if the button is configured to actually do anything? :)

My G5 software doesnt install right in Win2k3 :(

Kinda sux cuz i liked some of the advanced features it had... You could control the optical resolutions etc for each of the different mouse speeds which was pwnx0rage. Maybe i'll try and get it working again.

Hey guys, thanks for replying so soon..... :)

The buttons have full functionality in Win XP, and in the console in CS, I can assign any other mouse button click or the scroll wheel click, just not the advanced features....i.e. left / right scroll wheel clicks or the thumb button...... I can't see any stuff to setup in the Logitech software either.

Hmmmmmm, will continue to stab at it... can't be defeated by it :D

SHABBA!!!!

I have found the solution, dead easy, bit of playing around and BOSCH... so, if any ya'll have a G5 and can't map the thumb key... read on

Go into the Setpoint Software and go to the page where you setup your mouse buttons.... click on the setting for the thumb button, and then you'll get a list of options of buttons to map too.

Select 'Generic' button option from the list, and apply. Hey presto!!! All done and dusted, CS will recognise the thumb button as 'mouse4' and it will still in windows as the 'back' button in IE!!!!!!

YIPEE hoorah, knew it wouldn't beat me!!! :bootyshak
