LOG Quarter Finals - De_CPL_Fire

Morning guys.

Right I spent until about 1am last night going over some demos and tactics for this map. I've got a few ideas down and some revisions to the positions we spoke about yesterday. However I do need to watch a few more demos as from what I've seen so far, this is very much a rushing map as T.

A few points on both CT and T (we'll work on these in the next session).

CT:

- As a basic tactic, we'll play two people in B, two in A and one middle (on spiral or stairs as some people call it).

- In B (where Jim will be sniping in that corridor some rounds), Oxo and Jim will push up together occasionally. One will flash and the other will peak and drop back. I've also got revised positions for this site and both of you will need to work together. Oxo, there are areas where you can push and I'll show you how to play this position tonight.

- Mid I'll probably take unless anyone else really wants it. My role will be a link player, backing up both sites. Additionally I have a CT pistol tactic now that I'd like to try out.

- In A, I'm still looking into these positions and how they should rotate, but after a couple more demos, I'll have something more concrete.

What I'd like to do is, once I'm prepared, take each player through their position and how they should play it depending on their team-mate. I.e. if one person pushes up one side, the other should have a set position he covers to allow for this. This goes for both sites.

T:

As T, this is very much of a rushing and aggressive map. In order to win this, we need to to do a couple of things.

- Firstly, we really need to get to and take the middle area. If we can get that down, the map is fairly open as you basically split off both their sites and inevitably split their teams off. On the other hand over, you could view this as us being in between both teams meaning that we have two angle to cover. Therefore I've got a few ideas in order to sort this.

- Secondly, smokes and flashes are imperative on this map. If we rush any of the sites, the middle area is where the CT's will back up from, so we need to get smokes down to block this area off. I'm fairly confident in saying that if we get into a site and smoke the middle area with 2 or 3 smokes, the round will be ours. Once in and smoked out, it's very difficult to re-take the site because you just can't see in and end up walking blindly through smoke!

Ok I'm about done (don't wanna bore you too much). I'll finalise tactics tonight, and if anyone is about, we can go over the positions.

Oh and lastly (sorry lol), if anyone is at home or has some time to kill, can we do a bit of research on this team we're playing?

I know it's sneaky, but I'm tempted to try and get a PCW against them but with our B team using different names / tags. They'll be looking for PCW's, so it'll be a case of hanging out in their channel in IRC and just maybe pm'ing them when they spam for a game to see what they say.

Obviously, whoever does this will have to make sure they do not say we are from OC3D and play on their server. Demos in eyes would be good also :)

Sneaky approach, but believe me, a lot of teams do it and it's a bit like watching a video replay before a football game to get tactics etc :)

when we did tactics for this map before, me and llwyd spent a lot of time perfecting a way to flash and smoke the mid guy from (what we called) "fire room". as you are running up perpendicular to the big ramp, flash over the top properly and u can usually get across (again what we called) "catwalk" and towards the site.

a few other small things... if you rush a site, always designate one person to flash towards the mid/link guy. its so easy for him to rotate, and it only takes 1 flash as u enter a site to take him out the game.

as the CT playing in...erm..the site with the netting fence around it, some rounds, if its quiet, push that side corridor thing and hide under the steps. if they decide to push somebody that way slowly, they hardly ever look there, and if they all rush it....hello 5 man :)

when rotating as CT into that same netting site, dont all go the back way through ct spawn even tho it is quickest...especially whoever plays mid, its best to go the front more open way, as nades will hammer you in ct spawn.

a more defensive spot playing mid, is to move to the opposite end of that platform (opposite side to spiral steps) and just watch "catwalk" with an awp. this is good if they rush that fenced site a lot, as you are in a better position to back up.

Should be about tonight. I need to have one night off to sort some stuff out, so I'll let you know if I'm about tonight.

Was a good training session yesterday though!
 
Would prefer Sunday if possible as it gives us that little bit more time to prepare.

Sunday at 9pm would be best for me, unless anyone would rather it be tomorrow.

I think we're prepared but I probably won't be about tonight.
 
I think we should play some games together tonight, maybe play one with that danny guy that stepped in to play with tom, oxo, ins and myself last night, or Nads if he's available, so we can get comfortable playing with eachother

I'm about tonight! I'll be online and we'll sort some training.

Also now we have a date, I can sort out the mEm lads if you want, but please let me know asap because I want to make sure I give them as much notice as possible.

I was considering getting Danny (D) and Mark (Phunky) to play if we wanted. However if we get anyone, I'd really suggest we ask D as he is very good indeed and will probably win us the game!

Let me know what you lads think! We need to make a decision on who we'd like to play, so that I can go out to the guys and ask them. If they're available, we can then get the team together and win this god damn game haha!

Personally i would prefer danny, but thats only on the basis hes mixed with us a few times before, and like u sed, he is awsome:D
 
yea D would be my preference tbh, nothing against Phunky, just for the same reasons as oxo. We should really field the best team possible as it is instant knockouts now. I'd be happy to sit out in order for D to play (If i need to that is)

I'm available for training tonight :D especially now that the match is getting close :eek:
