Little Black Box with a splash of Orange !

Hey Folks been a while since I have posted on here !!
Finally got back into a build that I shelved and am now revisiting !

The original build was 'Orange Box' but i just wasn't feeling it... at all, So the best thing I think was to scrap it come away from it for a few months and revisit the build with a fresher outlook.

So the new plan is still based around the Bitfenix Prodigy Mini ITX form but I have plugged for the Black Case King Anniversary Edition.

From my old build I had a custom clear roof made so I could do away with the roof top grill, so I want to use this with also windowed side panels on both sides.

Airflow will be a coming from a front mounted Xigmatek XLF 200mm passing through an emptied out prodigy box with an H80i with a mounted Xigmatek XLF 120mm exhausting.

So the kit that will stuffed into this little baby will be a 3570K cpu - 16BG Ram - mobo Asus P8Z77-I Deluxe - H80i - PSU 530W BeQuiet - GPU EVGA Classified GTX780 - DGM 2.5K 27" Monitor
2TB SAT6 HDD with a corsair 120GB Force GT SSD or the OS, Windows7.

With having the 2 windows I need to move the reset/power switches with leds. I can use the existing metal side panel as a template and cut that out of the acrylic window, sounds easy right !!??? Could be needing the Dremel. Also custom cut lid which just need the rivets pushing into place.

This build will be a gaming rig, I hope I enjoy building this more than I did the last one.
Here are a few pics so far, some salvaged from the discontinued rig and some new, looking forward to this one.

Loving the GPU, just took delivery of this an hour ago :p

Regards to all.
KANEY.

A splash of orange... and even more blue. Shame that the motherboard kind of ruins the colour scheme :\

Nice hardware though. Are you sure that Classified card is going to fit in the Prodigy?

yeah i know what you mean shame this mini ITX doesn't come with a splash of anything other than BLUE !

as for the Classified, short answer is NOPE. It is huuuge, but as soon as I finish work we shall find out :)

been testing a GTX670 in there but this is slightly larger, failing that I have a new card for 600T case :p

as for the splash of Orange I was thinking of using an Orange windowed panel on the GPU side ...... it looks strangely good !

The Z77 Stinger is a black board, but I can't blame you for picking Asus over EVGA

The Prodigy can actually accommodate pretty long cards, but the thing with the Classified is that it's also taller. Good to see you have a back-up plan though!

That would just wash the colours out and make everything orange. Makes it seem useless to even buy orange components like the RAM and fans when you're going to put an orange window on it anyway. Your build though, so that's for you to decide but I'm personally not a fan of the idea :p

hahaha Cheers Feronix we are just out the traps here let me get some more done !!

I want to make a monster in a small form factor AS TIDY AS POSSIBLY ;)

keep it coming though !! :p

Height of a card isn't a problem at all in the Prodigy, that'll be fine.

I'd only be concerned about the width of it, but looking at pictures you should be alright with that too to be honest.

its definitely going to be tight james, will stick her in as soon as I am home so we shall see ! Will share in the glory and the failure

Okay got the GPU home today and IT FITS !! :)
thank god !

Looks great. Really making me want to start my prodigy build right now.

yeah go for it Avro, any ideas what you are going to do ! this build will be fairly straight laced !! Nothing too dramatic.

Good! That thing is massive ;)

Feronix it is bloody massive, thats why I sized it up against my 670 just to give a general idea.

I am sure the 780 is Same size PCB as the TITAN.

Few more Pics from earlier and thats me done for today, hopefully get back into this tomorrow :)

Regards
KANEY.

Nice!

Even tho you haven't come far in this project I'm looking forward to it! :)

About the PCB of the GTX 780 - It is the same as the Titan as long as the manufacturers haven't altered the dimensions. In fact, the reference GTX 780 PCB is almost exactly the same as the Titan, the difference being very minor and the additional 3GB VRAM on the back of the Titan.

Other than that you go Kaney! :) I'm interested in having the button in the window, pretty smart.

Hey Nikkop !! how you doing !?

thanks for the info, they pretty much are the same card ..... beast Vs beast :p

As for the button in the window scenario I have 3 windowed side panels 2 black and one Orange from my started previous build.

Check out the picture to show slight difference in their build. I am actually liking the difference and may use the orange side panel !! :)
